YOU'LL NEED A MALLET!! January 26, 2010 George Perkins 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Did you read the title of my review? If so good, because seriously, a hammer will not do. You'll NEED a mallet. That said,...assembly time (1 person) is about 90 mins. Less than 60 mins if you have an electric screwdriver with hex bit attachments. There are not a lot of different pieces used to put this together, so it's pretty straight-forward.
As far as the design goes - pretty solid. This an Ikea'ish design and I like it. It's very sturdy and simple to put together. Once you DO put it together, I doubt you can take it apart - the plastic holders for the slats look like they're meant to stay in,...forever. You can easily get to the legs and remove those if your moving, but just so you know, okay? Are we cool? Yes? No? Anywayz, I'd say for the money it's a good buy. No box springs necessary since the wood slats bow upward providing that needed "cush".
Thumbs up, yo!
Great Bed Frame January 30, 2010 K. DaRos 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Very happy with the bed frame. Everything was exactly as expected. The frame is of steel and went together easily. There were plenty of slats for support of the memory foam mattress we purchased from COSTCO. I was able to press the slat clips on without a mallet as instructed. A socket wrench set and power screw driver will speed up the assembly. Looks like and goes together like an IKEA product. I have already recommended this to friends.
great bed frame March 1, 2010 R. Devi (New York) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this frame about a month ago and assembled it myself. I spent about an hour to put it together and once I set my mattress on it, I just loved it. It is so stable and sturdy and doesn't make any noise. It seems to very strong as main frame is very solid metal. Even wood slates are strong and fits very tightly on bed frame, unlike IKEA's bed slates which keep rambling all time..
I am very happy with this purchase and packing and delivery was also up to my satisfaction.
A happy customer
love this frame April 25, 2010 F. Lewis 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We purchased a foam mattress at IKEA in which it could be placed on a slat bed or box springs. The box springs were too firm, and most 'european' slat beds were too low to the ground. We are so happy that we found this frame. The price is excellent, quality is great.. we have a king and it does not make a sound or move. We were able to utilize our existing headboard by attaching it to the wall with brackets, and placing this frame against it. And best of all.....it is 12 inches off the ground so we can put LARGE storage containers under it for seasonal clothing, blankets, suitcases, etc. and a standard bed skirt fits perfectly to hide it all.
Love it!!!
Excellent Functional Bedframe. May 11, 2010 ShoppingBag (Deep South, Earth) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buying another one! I liked the modern look and function of this bedframe so much that I am ordering another one for my guest room. It was not hard to put together at all. Just follow the instructions and use a mallet if you can't push the wood slats all the way into the plastic slots that you attach to the bedframe.
The feature I like over the older style frames is the height under the bed, which is great for storage boxes to slide out of view. A bedskirt can hide everything. After putting an older foam mattress onto the frame I bought first, I am hunting for a new hypoallergenic mattress to put on this second frame. Since I really need all the storage space they provide, I may even buy a third frame later for the other bedroom. I donated my old low-to-the-floor metal frames to charity.
